Easy to use, easy to maintain, THIOT INGENIERIE proposes a robust and versatile machine for the swaging of gun barrels. It is the result of extensive experience in the mechanical autofrettage of barrels with calibers ranging from 60 to 380 mm, and with various steel grades, from NiCrMo carbon steels to the best martensitic stainless steels.
Belonging to a rather traditional general concept, since it is “simply” a matter of pushing a swage (or an “olive”) inside the bore of a gun barrel, the THIOT INGENIERIE swaging machines are nevertheless characterized by a few innovative specific technical characteristics:
COMPACT DESIGN
The length and width of the machine are reduced by 30% compared to conventional swaging machines and hydraulic autofrettage machines
NO PUSH-BAR BUCKLING
The buckling of the push bar is reduced to zero by design, as the bar is permanently guided over its entire useful length

PERMANENT CONTROL
OF THE OPERATION
The process speed is finely regulated and the thrust force is monitored throughout the operation for better control of the process and a guarantee of its effectiveness on the barrel that has been swaged.
