THIOT INGENIERIE installed the first hydraulic autofrettage machine in 2000, a machine whose basic principle constituted a technological breakthrough at the time. New ideas were put forward to limit maintenance operations, the number of spare parts to be kept in stock, and especially to make the autofrettage process more reliable. Overnight, the maximum autofrettage pressure was increased to 10,000 bar, a pressure perfectly stabilized in the whole machine and the barrel that had to be autofrettaged.

THIOT INGENIERIE’s autofrettage machines are now tested at 14,000 bar, to work daily at 12,000 bar. They allow the autofrettage of several barrels per day, the number depending on the pressurization protocol for each barrel.
